This book is a journey of Goldilocks entering the house of the three bears – big papa bear, medium mama bear and small baby bear. The three bears have things in their house that fits their size. A big bowl for papa, a medium bowl for mama and a small bowl for baby bear. Same goes with their chair. A big and hard chair for papa, a medium and soft chair for mama, and little rocky chair for baby bear. And at night, papa bear slept on “the great big bed” which was hard, mama bear slept on “middle-sized bed” which was very soft and baby bear slept on a little bed which was not too hard nor too soft but “just right.” One day, the bears leave their porridge to cool down while they go out to the woods. Goldilocks smells the porridge and follows it to the bear house. She chooses to eat the baby bear porridge as it is not too hot nor too cold but just right. She goes around the house and chooses all of baby bears things. After a while, she gets tired and tucks herself in on baby bears house. When the bears return, they do not understand why their house is turn upside down. They find Goldilocks sleeping soundly in baby bear bed. Goldilocks wakes up and runs out of the bear house so fast that she screams “I’m never going to wander alone in the forest again.”

Thoughts

Never wander alone in the forest or anywhere if you don’t really know where you are. I loved wandering around neighborhood that was far away from my home when I was young but after my brother read this book to me. I was careful not to wander around too much because I thought the bear would jump up from somewhere. This would be a terrific book to read to little kiddos. Not to scare them but to teach them that taking things from other without permission is not good. I would also use this book to teach students about the sizes big, medium and small during math class.
